I heart the streets
I love the streets. Taking an hour or two on a lazy Saturday and perusing the streets of Bellingham is a favorite past time of mine. The scene is ever changing. Whether it be the graffiti on the alley walls or the way a shadow hits the sidewalk because of the placement of the sun this time of year. I love it.

Settled in
Well after couch surfing for a month I finally found a place and have moved in. I am looking forward to getting back to editing photos and posting more on here.
I just uploaded my most recent wedding to my website: www.photosforthepeople.com
Check that, comments appreciated.
I am also working on a Glenn Beck multi-media piece on the recent protests here which I hope have done this week.

Glenn Beck Protests
Around a 1,000 people on both sides showed up to air their opinion vocally and through clever placards. When photographing an aruging man and his pal, the pal didn't take kindly and lunged at my camera. While it seemed the anti-beck protesters outnumbered the other side; it was hard to tell as they both shouted side to side down a couple blocks on college way.

Moving...Sorta
So am I moving, well, sorta. I can't move into my next place for a bit but I didn't want to stay at my current place any longer. So storage is where it's at for me. Where am I going inbetween? Couches! It's funny because I used to work at this place and never thought I'd have to use it. Have a wonderful day!

E-Wash Teaser
An old house from times gone by still stands in an undisclosed location in Eastern Washington.
I went over to Eastern Washington for this Labor Day weekend and came back with some very pleasing photos. More to come but enjoy this for now.

Bungee Jumping
Without despair ever setting in, I am as close to knowing what a suicide jumper feels like as he plummets towards the pavement below as I will ever get(or want to).
Was I nervous, yeah, a bit. I had been climbing around on a tree course and zip-lining prior to this so the height thing didn't bother me so much. As I hobbled towards the edge of the platform I asked the guide, "Whenever?", "Yeah, whenever." I looked down, put my hands up and jumped. I immediately thought something like why am I doing this but I guess that was natural. A silence enveloped me as a I rushed towards the river bed, the wind passing me by as my only friend. As I approached the water I immediately slowed down, plunged into the river up to my waist and then was plucked out like a fish out of water and flung back up towards the bridge. I came down and then up and then down. I finally slowed down and got off onto a raft which carried me over towards the dock. I did it. I DID IT!
Yes I would do it again.

Film Noir

I love film noir. The Big Sleep, M, The Maltese Falcon, Humphrey Bogart in his trenchcoat smoking a cigarette and Lauren Bacall on his arm, yeah, I love noir. This is my attempt at recreating that in my own fashion. As I mentioned before I got some cheap radio triggers and have been massively reading up on lighting techniques. I setup a little backdrop in my house along with 2 strobes and the rest is what you see.

Lightbox
I've been getting really excited about lighting lately and looked up photography equipment you can build yourself. I found directions for a really easy to make lightbox. You can check it out here: http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent
All the photos below were shot in my $5 lightbox. I had one light on top of the lightbox containing 3 - 28w CF bulbs.
