Semi-fun

All photos copyright 2008 Jefferson L. Morriss

A semi truck carrying the finishing touch to a good martini(olives), overturned this morning near the Lakeway exit in Bellingham.

I didn't get off work and start shooting it till nearly 2:30pm and they were still trying to deal with it.  When I asked Rusty Miller of the Bellingham Police Dept what caused the accident he said, "and you can quote me on this, snow."

They eventually tore the semi in two and hauled the halves down the Lakeway off ramp and set them smack in front of the Bellingham Visitors Center.

Enjoy.

After Work

All photos copyright Jefferson L. Morriss 2008

I work two jobs. I am a delivery driver down in Burlington full-time and in the evenings I clean offices, banks, etc.   After work tonight I came out and saw a man sitting inside a Starbucks window working on his laptop.  Now this may not be a great picture or ever be remembered by anyone but me, but I love capturing little slices of life like this.  On the opposite side of the street two people were smoking cigarettes and chatting outside the Horseshoe Cafe.  It looked like a intense conversation but I couldn't hear a word.

Again just one of those moments I like observing.   I shot both of these photos from my car.

This is a little market on a corner near my house. Mom n' Pop places have a hard time making it but I think they have more style than any big chain store.

So it finally snowed here after being canceled for friday it let loose on Saturday. Snow isn't a foreign thing here but we don't get it a lot(in my opinion) so when we do I appreciate it, it's  a change of pace instead of rain at least.  I did go out shooting in the lovely teen temperatures and here's a couple photos I brought back. Enjoy.

Fire and Rescue

All Photos Copyright Jefferson L. Morriss 2008

I was worried about not finding something to cover this weekend but my prayers were answered today in the form of a mobile home fire.  I was driving north on Whidbey Island near Coupeville and came upon a very large plume of smoke.  I found my way over to a mobile home park and shot photos for a while.    I love spot news.

Nobody was believed to have been hurt in the blaze thankfully, as it was some present just before Christmas.
